Daniel Dobbeni appointed as an Independent Board Member of BSTOR

Daniel Dobbeni, a Belgian MsC engineer, brings first-rate international experience in the power transmission and distribution sector. He has held several high-level positions in the energy sector, including :

  • COO and then CEO of Elia, the Belgian Transmission System Operator (TSO), from 1999 to 2012
  • Chairman of 50Hertz, one of the four German TSOs, from 2010 to 2015
  • President of ETSO and then ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity representing 41 TSOs, from 2004 to 2013
  • Vice-President and then President of GO15, the association of the very large Power Grid Operators representing more than half of the world’s electricity demand, from 2012 to 2015
  • Independent Board Member of EIT InnoEnergy, co-funded by the European Union, which is the world’s largest sustainable energy innovation ecosystem with a portfolio of more than 200 companies that have generated €110 billion per year in revenue, since 2014
  • Independent Board Member and then Chairman of NPC Ukrenergo, the Ukrainian TSO, since 2021
